Thursday begins my four days of regular unrestricted driving. I get to the yard at 6am to begin my 12 hour shift. Our yard is up the street from Mandalay Bay so that is usually my first stop. MB had 20+ cabs and Luxor had 15+ so I went over to Excalibur. To get to the taxi line you need to do a kind of a round-about that runs beneath the pedestrian bridge (to the tram) and flip around to the Tropicana Ave side of the casino. As I turned down that road I could see 15+ cabs waiting so I was planning on going out Trop to NY NY or onward down the strip to find a shorter line. Anyways as I'm going down the drive this dude flags me down.
The drunkard from Colorado is today's fare of the day. Instead of waiting 30-45 minutes for my first ride of the day, this dude jumps in and I take him to the Mirage. He's obviously fucked up and along our drive he mentions a few things,
1. He's glad he didn't try and walk all the way from Mandalay Bay to the Mirage.
2. He invited this hot chick (with 8% body fat) to go hiking with him and his dog up this mountain in waist deep snow (with snow shoes on) and he was embarrassed he performed so poorly.
3. From South Carolina, grew up loving the ocean but now prefers the mountain life. (I mentioned I was from San Diego)
4. His dog was pissed he took him hiking in snow that deep.
5. His flight left Las Vegas in 3 hours.
As I dropped him off I told him to make sure he calls the operator and requests multiple wake up calls just in case he passes out. So that's it. It was great picking up a fare right away and getting the day started. It ended with 34 fares in 12 hours.
(Extra Board means you show up early and get put on a list and you are there to cover shifts for any drivers that don't show up. I've had pretty good luck at getting picked to cover strip cab shifts)

I hope he wasnt flying AA. Fuckers charge $100 change fee if you miss your flight, plus the difference in fare.
